I enjoyed these classes! Happy to be continuing these into 2023 🌮🍦🍋. Also, learning to be more gentle with myself and others. Still a work in progress, but something I plan to continue working on in 2023.
Hi Julia, happy 2023! I'm wondering if you can expand on not believing in new years resolutions? Your "reflections" are so peaceful, I think I'll create some of my own! :)
For me personally they’ve always made me feel set up for failure which is just not a scenario I want to create for myself…also so many New Year’s resolutions seem to be rooted in diet culture so I just like to skip it entirely…all that said, happy new year!
I relearned deep breathing. After wearing so many masks at work, day in and out, I needed to catch up on breathing. I am continuing this into the year and adding meditation, which I have struggled with, but am trying. Taking time with my kids who are growing and moving onto adulthood. And, as prior, continuing your classes! Ensures comradery in the kitchen and a meal for the family on Sundays.
Also going back to movies, even (maybe especially) by myself. I just saw The Whale. And, while some may find controversy with the movie and it subject, I found my heart filled after seeing this film. Alone! I like a good film by myself, feels like an instant and readily available getaway.

What books have you been loving lately?
I’m starting Weightless by Evette Dionne tonight.
Also, would you ever consider a tapas class? I think it’s such a fun way to cook and eat!
Oooo fun suggestion! I like that!
Re: books…last night I just finished ‘Flight’ by Lynn Steger Strong which wasnt necessarily a *fun* book but was so beautiful- I really loved it.

Love all of this — thanks for coming to my classes. Wishing you many restorative breaths + time with your kids.
