We are 5 weeks into a 5 month old rescue puppy & our lives are transformed. Your stories of Winky & Hope hit most of reason's why. Including knowing my spouse in new ways ❤️

We're 5 days in with an 11 week old puppy. It's the first puppy I've ever had (our last dog was a year and a half and -mostly- POTTY TRAINED when we got her). My co-worker keeps telling me it will be hell for the next 6 months. Still, I'm so excited.

Thanks for giving us this peek into home life!

They change so much, so fast. This is our first puppy in a loooong time. But all love all the time. Potty training went well, but now chewing all the things. . . And just found out about squirrels

Your descriptions of Hope are so similar to our late dog, Riley—it really got me! Especially the part about affection meaning so much more when you don't have an overly affectionate dog.

I just love this SO much. I was not a dog person until my son got an adorable bernadoodle named Garbanzo who stole my heart. She died very suddenly last summer at 2 yrs old and we miss her so. Dogs really and truly are just the best.

absolutely not enough time. We spread her ashes near her favourite dog park high on a hill overlooking the ocean. I look up and see her every day.

Winky’s personality sounds so much like my Catahoula, Rufus. Is she part Catahoula at all? She looks like she could be.

We definitely think there’s some catahoula in her - she looks exactly like one but smaller scale. So interesting to know about rufus’ personality!!!

Rufus is the only Catahoula I've ever had, but from what I understand they tend to have that eternal puppy energy and love meeting new people. Rufus is such a charmer and people love meeting him because he's so excited to meet new people. His tail wags so hard he can't walk straight, it's incredibly endearing. But he can also be bossy AS HECK, but we still love him. :)
