Fennel and fruit for the win! What a wonderful recipe + variations.

A recommendation: I like to use a mandoline for these kinds of salads (so speedy, and it creates beautiful slices), but sometimes the little protector thing with the handle doesn't fit properly on the food, so I use a special glove instead. I heard Nigella Lawson talking about these gloves on a podcast and they've been a real game changer. I use them for some challenging chef's knife tasks, too. You can get right up to the blade and not worry about hurting yourself, and you can throw them in the dishwasher if they get dirty. Hi Julia! Adding this to our Thanksgiving menu; Do you think it needs to be doubled for a group of 7 adults (+3 kids, but I am not sure they'll be into trying a new salad on Thanksgiving ;) ).
